NEXT RAIN CHANCE SAN DIEGO: UPDATED SATURDAY 12-16-2023

A large storm system is churning off the California coast. You can easily spot it on the satellite loop below.

This system will weaken and move to our north, pulling some moisture into our area for the start of the workweek. An occasional shower will be possible intermittently Monday through Wednesday.

A better chance for rain will arrive when a stronger system dives out of the Gulf of Alaska and settles into the region. Periods of rain and isolated downpours will be possible Wednesday night through Friday.

I've included the projected rain amounts through Friday night. Totals will range from 1 to 3" across the area. These numbers will be greatly affected by the track of the system, so I'll keep an eye on it and bring updates when needed.
