The core of the storm system is still about 1,800 miles away from San Diego. I've marked it on the satellite image below.
I'm expecting the front to swing through our area tomorrow afternoon. The best chance for rain will be from 3 to 10 PM Monday. A few showers and possibly an isolated downpour/thunderstorm will be possible during this time (60%). Isolated showers are also possible during the day Tuesday (30%).
Winds will also strengthen Monday through Wednesday. I'm expecting sustained winds of 10-20 mph with gusts at 30 mph. Winds will be stronger in the mountains: sustained 25-35 mph with gusts approaching 50 mph.
I'm also keeping an eye on another potential rain chance around the 11/9 to 11/11 time period.
