NEXT RAIN CHANCE SAN DIEGO: UPDATED SUNDAY 3-26-2023

Our next storm system has moved out of the Gulf of Alaska and is drifting southward along the western Canadian coast.

The first round of showers will arrive in our area by Wednesday morning. We should see some breaks in the rain later in the day, then another round of showers will arrive Wednesday night into Thursday. Isolated downpours and some hail will be possible during this time period as the core of the system passes overhead.

The Padres have their home opener at 1 PM Thursday. It's looking like most of the rain will move east by then, but it will be a close call.

Snow levels will start at 6,500-7,500 feet early Wednesday, then steadily drop to 3,500-4,500 by Thursday morning.

I've posted the computer projections for total rain and snowfall below.

I'm also watching for possibly another system affecting our area around the 4/5 to 4/8 time frame. It's far away, so there will definitely be some adjustments to the forecast.
