WEATHER UPDATE: 8 AM TUESDAY 1-15-2019

The upper atmosphere remains energized, so the chance for rain will persist through Thursday.

Currently a batch of light rain is moving across the area. This should dissipate by midday. Then another round of showers will move in this afternoon and especially tonight. A few showers will linger on and off through Wednesday, but it won't be a complete washout. The last round of rain will then arrive on Thursday. Friday and this weekend look dry.

Snow levels will remain high during this event (above 8,000 feet), so local mountains shouldn't get any snow. Though the higher peaks in the San Bernardino mountains should get several inches.

Long range computer forecasts continue to show a blocking pattern developing next Monday. This means we will see an extended period of dry and warm weather. Sometimes you can get a storm to sneak in under these ridges, but more than likely the last couple weeks of January will be dry.
