NEXT RAIN CHANCE SAN DIEGO: UPDATED MONDAY 12-21-2020

I'm watching a small storm system out in the Pacific, almost halfway between our coast and Hawaii. I've circled it on the satellite image below.

This system will bring clouds to Southern California on Wednesday and Thursday. A quick shower could develop late Thursday afternoon and evening (40%). Skies will clear out by Christmas afternoon.

I'm still keeping an eye up north in the Gulf of Alaska, where another storm system is brewing. This system could bring our area more substantial rainfall (early projection for rain totals is posted below). Current computer data has this system bringing rain to our area on Monday, 12/28 and Tuesday, 12/29. This system is still thousands of miles away from San Diego, so there will be some fine tuning of the forecast as it approaches. I'll bring more updates in the coming days.
