NEXT RAIN CHANCE SAN DIEGO: UPDATED WEDNESDAY 12-16-2020

A storm system is approaching the West Coast and will bring clouds to our skies by this evening. You can spot the clouds on the satellite loop below. Unfortunately, the core of this system will miss our area, so our rain chances are limited.

We will have clouds and some winds through Thursday. Isolated light showers could develop by Thursday late afternoon into Thursday night (40%). Skies should clear out by Friday morning.

I'm continuing to watch the long range computer forecasts for any chance of real rainfall. We could see a brief shift in the weather pattern after Christmas. Otherwise, it's looking mostly dry. La Nina is still strong along the Equatorial Pacific (indicated by the shades of blue below). Hopefully this will weaken later in the winter so that we can see some better rain chances by the end of rain season. Fingers crossed!
