I've been keeping a close eye on the Gulf of Alaska. This area will slowly become energized in the coming days. I've included a satellite loop below, where you can see a deep shade of blue at the top of the image - indicating the jet stream migrating southward.
The European computer forecast has been very consistent with a storm system diving out of this region and into our area by Friday night into Saturday. Unfortunately, there isn't much moisture available, which will limit our rain chances. Regardless, scattered showers should be possible through Saturday (40%).
This will be the start of a general cooling trend heading into the second week of November. Hopefully this will also lead to more rain chances. It's an uphill battle though: La Nina continues in the equatorial Pacific.
