NEXT RAIN CHANCE SAN DIEGO: UPDATED SATURDAY 2-8-2020

A storm system is currently passing over Oregon and drifting southward towards California. It will bring our area clouds and a chance for a few light showers on Sunday. The chance for occasional showers will persist through Monday and then the system will meander eastward by Tuesday. Rain totals will unfortunately be low with most areas seeing a quarter inch or less. Mountain areas could receive a half inch to an inch.

Snow levels will be fairly high through the day Sunday, but will eventually drop to 4,500 to 5,000 feet Sunday night. In San Diego County, snow accumulations will be 2-4" on the tallest mountains above 5,000 feet.

Another storm system will dive into our area by next Friday and Saturday. Computer forecasts have been inconsistent with this scenario, so I will continue to watch it and bring more updates once the picture becomes more clear.
