NEXT RAIN CHANCE SAN DIEGO: UPDATED FRIDAY 4-26-2019

A large storm system is spinning in the Pacific to the west of Southern California (seen on the satellite loop below). This system is weakening and doesn't have a lot of moisture. Most computer forecasts have this system drifting overhead Monday into Monday night. We could see a couple showers pop up during this time period. In addition, the atmosphere will be somewhat unstable, so isolated thunderstorms will be possible. Timing is key with this forecast. If the system speeds up, the thunderstorm chances will push east. Regardless, I'll put rain chances at 40% across the entire county.

Another system will follow this a could bring a slight chance for rain around Cinco de Mayo. Again, this is far away and a lot could change. In addition, climatology is working against us at this point...we are heading towards dry season!
