NEXT RAIN CHANCE SAN DIEGO: UPDATED FRIDAY 2-13-2026

As I discussed in my last blog entry, this next round of rain is going to be a big one!

A stray shower is possible in the mountains today (Friday), and maybe we'll see a little morning mist Sunday morning, otherwise, this weekend looks dry.

Rain will then overspread the area Monday morning, with moderate to heavy showers possible late morning into the afternoon.

Then intermittent showers and isolated downpours will be possible through Tuesday into early Wednesday afternoon.

There is another system that could clip our area on Thursday, however, the timing and track are uncertain at this time. It's still worth watching.

Snow levels will drop on Tuesday and Wednesday, so we should see some snow in the mountains of East County. Right now, it's looking like wet snow, which would impact accumulation potential. Computer projections are only showing a few inches on the tallest peaks through Wednesday. Regardless, keep an eye to the forecast for the latest on road conditions.

Below I've posted the rain and snow projections through Wednesday evening. The San Diego area should see 1 to 3" of rainfall, while the mountains could see 3 to 5" of rain.

Winds are also going to be strong with this system The first map below shows projected wind gusts Monday afternoon. This is when winds will be strongest for coastal and inland areas (35 to 55 mph). Tuesday is also looking blustery, but not as bad as Monday.

Wednesday will also bring some intense winds, especially in the mountains, where gusts could exceed 60 mph. I've posted the project gusts for Wednesday on the last map below.
