I've said this before, but computer forecasts have been extremely unreliable this La Nina rain season. For this reason, I'm reluctant to post to this blog until the data becomes more consistent. This upcoming rain chance is no exception!
There is a storm system just a few hundred miles off the Northern California coast. You can see the system in the satellite loop below. This system will meander our way by Wednesday and bring a quick round of showers and isolated thunderstorms (heavy rain and hail with the strongest ones), starting late morning and lasting into the evening. This system will exit our area Wednesday night. Snow levels will stay fairly high: ranging 6,000 to 7,000 feet.
I'm watching a couple other systems: one for Saturday and another next Tuesday/Wednesday. Both don't look too promising for significant rainfall, but we'll take what we can get!
Most of the long range computer projections show us staying in a generally cooler weather pattern for the next couple weeks. Instead of highs in the 70s, which we've seen over the past several days, temperatures will drop back to the mid to upper 60s, which are more normal for this time of the year.
