The next storm system is now on our doorstep. Showers will develop this evening from 6-9 PM, then steady rain will overspread the area tonight. This initial round of rain will exit Tuesday morning, then there will be the chance for intermittent showers through Tuesday evening. An isolated downpour is also possible during the day Tuesday, in fact, don't be surprised if you hear a rumble of thunder. Rain and snow chances quickly diminish Tuesday night.
Snow levels will drop to 2,500 to 3,500 feet tonight into tomorrow. Some higher elevations will easily get several inches of snow. It will be nice to see Cuyamaca and Laguna snow capped! I've posted current computer forecasts (NAM) to show the snow potential. As always, check with the National Weather Service for the latest in snow advisories.
The next chance for rain arrives this Friday.
