COMING HEAT WAVE SAN DIEGO: UPDATED SATURDAY 6-11-2016

For the past week long range computer forecasts have been hinting at a gradual shift in the weather pattern. Comfortable temperatures will persist for the next few days, especially when a storm system settles in the Pacific Northwest (pictured below).

This storm weakens and hot air starts to build in by the end of next workweek. Temperatures should climb into the 80s by next weekend. If the ridge in the upper atmosphere (pictured below) drifts farther west, we could possibly see temps reaching near 90 during the week of 6/20 to 6/25.

This is far into the future, so I'll continue to track it and bring more updates. Ultimately temperatures will depend on the placement of that upper ridge.
