WEATHER UPDATE: 9 AM FRIDAY 4-10-2020

An area of rain with embedded downpours is moving across the area. Showers will become more scattered into the afternoon and evening. The chance for rain completely diminishes by Saturday morning. Another slight chance for isolated showers arrives on Sunday.

Flood warnings are in affect for some areas in San Diego County. You can find all advisories and warnings on the National Weather Service website:

https://alerts.weather.gov/cap/wwaatmget.php?x=CAC073&y=1

Snow levels will remain around 4,500 to 5,500 feet through tonight. You can find the latest road conditions in the mountains here:

https://roads.dot.ca.gov/

I have a 5-day running tally of rainfall updated at 8 AM. Some areas are approaching 5" of rain. Here is the link:

Stay safe out there!

WEATHER UPDATE: 1 PM WEDNESDAY 4-8-2020

I've attached a really cool satellite loop below. It shows the core of the storm spiraling off our coastline. Our chances for rain will continue until that core exits the region.

A few showers will push eastward this afternoon, then more persistent rain will develop tonight into early Thursday. Sporadic showers will then linger on-and-off through Thursday. The latest computer data shows this system moving a little slower than earlier anticipated, so the rain chances will persist all day Friday as well. A little hail could accompany isolated downpours.

I'm still expecting snow levels to hover around 4,500 to 5,500 feet.

A Flash Flood Watch and a Winter Weather Advisory are in effect. As always, you can find the latest at the National Weather Service website:

https://www.weather.gov/sgx/

I'll keep updating rain totals on my previous blog post.

https://sandiegoweathercenter.blogspot.com/2020/04/san-diego-rain-totals-sunday-4-5-2020.html

Another front will bring a chance for isolated showers on Sunday, though it doesn't look like a washout.
